Spain Competes in Women’s Repechage Tournament for Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Qualification

He Women’s Repechage Tournament of the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) brings together eight teams these days in Osaka (Japan) in search of the last four places for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games: Spain, Canada, France, Japan, Germany, Australia , Thailand and Algeria.

According to the format of this competition, the eight national teams will be divided into two groups and will play a first round group phase. Next, all the teams will go to the next round, in which the first from one group will face the fourth from the other, the second against the third and so on. The winners of these four matches, which will end the competition, will directly obtain the Paralympic place that the Netherlands, Great Britain, the United States and China already have.

Spain begins its journey this Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. against France, continues against Canada (Thursday the 18th at 5:45 a.m.) and concludes the league against Japan (Friday the 19th at 10:15 a.m.). The final meeting will be on Saturday and its time will depend on the position previously reached (3.30, 6.00, 8.30 or 11.00 Spanish time).

The national coach, Franck Belén, has called up for this tournament Vicky Alonso, Lourdes Ortega, Sonia Ruiz y Beatriz Zudaire (UCAM Murcia), Greetings by writing, Naiara Rodríguez y Laura Ugarte (correct), Maria Heras (UNES Sant Feliú de Llobregat), Vicky Perez (Amiab Albacete), Sara Revuelta (Ilunion), Sindy Paola Ramos (IMF Getafe) e Isabel de Jesus Lopez (Italia).

With this, Belén maintains her confidence in the group of players who won bronze at the European Championship in Rotterdam (Netherlands) last year. Regarding that team there are only two new additions, those of María Heras and Vicky Pérez, who replace Michell Navarro and Almudena Montiel.
