Simon Carr wins the fourth stage of the Tour des Alpes, Lopez still leader

Contested on the rugged roads of the Italian Alps between Laives and Borgo Valsugana, the fourth stage of the Tour of the Alps saw Simon Carr (EF Education-EasyPost) win this Thursday. Starting in the morning breakaway, the Briton won alone after running alone in the lead for the last 42 kilometers.

Lopez resists his pursuers

Carr took advantage of the fall of his pursuers Ben O’Connor (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale) and Chris Harper (Team Jayco AlUla) in the last descent of the Palu del Fersina. Launched in pursuit of the EF Education-EasyPost rider, the two Australians made a mistake in a turn. They were both surprised by a manhole cover. Launched at full speed, Harper slid several meters before hitting a lamp post.

Threatened several times by Ben O’connor then Valentin Paret-Peintre, Juan Perdo Lopez resisted the attacks of Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale and retained his green jersey.
