DUBAI, KOMPAS.TV – Shin Tae-yong said that the Indonesian U23 National Team should be able to win by scoring more goals when facing the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a trial match, Monday (8/4/2024) yesterday.
In the match which was held at the Shahab Al Ahli Stadium, Dubai, Garuda Muda won 1-0 over the UAE through a single goal from Witan Sulaeman.
After the match, Shin Tae-yong said that the performance of the players who played in the match was very good.
Even so, according to the coach from South Korea, the Indonesian U23 National Team still has many shortcomings in the sector finishing.
Shin Tae-yong even said that Marselino Ferdinand and his friends should have scored three to four goals against the UAE.
“It’s true that the main players played today, so the performance was very good, but maybe there was a lack of focus on scoring goals,” said Shin Tae-yong, quoted from the official PSSI website, Tuesday (9/4/2024).
“If I focused more, maybe I should have scored 3-4 more goals, but that’s what was lacking. But overall the performance was very good,” he added.

STY is also confident that the performance of the Indonesian U23 National Team players will be even better when they appear in the 2024 Qatar U23 Asian Cup next week.
