Serie A: reassuring news for Evan Ndicka after his discomfort in the middle of a match

Sunday April 15, AS Roma travels to Udinese for the 32nd day of Serie A. Trailing after a goal from Roberto Pereyra (23rd), Daniele De Rossi’s men equalize in second period through Romelu Lukaku (64th). A few minutes later, the match took another turn as Roman defender Evan Ndicka (25) collapsed on the pitch.

Holding his chest, the Ivorian comes out on a stretcher. As he leaves the field, he nevertheless gives a thumbs up. A gesture which is half reassuring, because the event is reminiscent of Christian Eriksen’s heart attack in the middle of a match during Euro 2021. Following this incident, the meeting between Udinese and AS Rome is logically stopped, after consultation between referee, players and staff.

Evan Ndicka was then transported to Udine hospital, where the entire squad of his club joined him a few hours later. This Monday, the news is reassuring about him since the latest tests carried out are positive according to “La Gazzetta dello Sport”.

AS Roma also posted a photo of their defender, clenched fist, accompanied by a message: “The team visited Ndicka in the hospital. Evan feels better and is in a good mood. He will remain under observation for tests at the hospital. »
