The league match between Udinese and AS Roma was stopped early on Sunday evening after Roma defender Evan Ndicka suddenly collapsed. The Frenchman was taken away after a long medical intervention, but was conscious. Ten minutes earlier, Romelu Lukaku had scored the 1-1 for Roma.
The incident happened around the 70th minute in Udinese-Roma when the score was 1-1. Roma defender Ndicka suddenly went to the ground after reportedly feeling stabbing pains in his chest.
The 24-year-old Frenchman quickly received medical assistance on the field, then was taken away in a stretcher. He gave a thumbs up to reassure everyone.
The game was then definitively stopped and will be continued on another date. Romelu Lukaku had headed in the equalizer for Roma in minute 64, and Udinese had taken the lead early on after a goal by Roberto Pereyra.
Lukaku scored his 11th league goal of the season.
