Austria’s tennis hope Joel Schwärzler has already reached the quarterfinals of his second Challenger tournament. Two days after the success over the Italian Giovanni Fonio (ATP 301st), the 18-year-old from Vorarlberg beat the Briton Henry Searle 6:1 7:6 (7/5) in Tallahassee on Wednesday.
Schwärzler’s next opponent in Florida, ranked 941st in the ATP rankings, is local hero Mitchell Krueger (ATP No. 277). The previous week, the Vorarlberger had failed in his debut appearance at the second highest ATP tournament level in Sarasota against the American Tristan Boyer.
