Santander and Henderson led the Orioles

The power of Anthony Santander and Gunnar Henderson was felt at Fenway Park as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox 9-4 and swept the three-game series.

The redlegs got Grayson Rodríguez up early with two runs in the first inning thanks to a ground ball by Masataka Yoshida and a double by the Creole Wilyer Abreu. Garrett Whitlock took the opportunity to go through five innings calmly, in which he barely received one run from a home run by Colton Cowser.

But in the eighth Santander appeared to turn the score around with his third home run of the year. The Creole’s connection, against Greg Weissert, put the shares 3-2 in favor of the birds.

Boston tied it with a solo home run by Connor Wong in the eighth and eventually an extra inning became necessary. But Baltimore once resorted to force to resolve it quickly.

In the top of the tenth, Gunnar Henderson took it out through left field to break the tie and command an ambush that ended in six runs and included a second home run for Colton Cowser.

Cowser finished 3 for 5 with four RBIs and two runs scored and raised his average to .458. Santander and Henderson had just one hit in four and five plate appearances, respectively.
