The city prepares for the 2026 South American Games

This week, a meeting was held in the city of Santa Fe for the organization of the 2026 South American Games, with its epicenter in the cities of Rosario, Santa Fe and Rafaela.

The provincial secretary of Sports of the Province, Flavia Padín, participated; the Undersecretary of Sports of Rosario, Diego Sebben; the Undersecretary of Sports of Santa Fe, Carlos Marzo and the Undersecretary of Sports and Recreation, Hugo Morel.

This will be the 13th edition and will cover more than 50 sports disciplines, many of which are qualifiers for the 2027 Pan American Games. The international competition will have the participation of more than 7,000 athletes from all over South America.

The disciplines proposed for 2026 were: open water, athletics, handball, basketball, badminton, 3×3 basketball, baseball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, fencing, water skiing, bodybuilding, soccer, field hockey, equestrian, e-sport, gymnastics, wrestling, judo, karate, weights, skating, paddle tennis, pentathlon, rugby, rowing, squash, softball, taekwondo, tennis, sports shooting, archery, triathlon, sailing, beach volleyball, and volleyball.

“We are in the process of forming the Executing Commission to work between the three headquarters. We know that it is an innovative proposal because it will take place in different cities and we are working to live up to this great event, which we will have in the province and in Rafaela,” Morel highlighted.
