Run and think. Like this Monopoly introduces orienteering sports and at the same time our guest – Latvia’s and one of the world’s best orienteers Sandra Grosberga.
Sandra Grosberga is currently the leader of the Latvian orienteering national team. She studies at the Latvian Sports Academy, and has also obtained a bachelor’s degree in communication science at the University of Latvia.
At the beginning of her career, Sandra spent considerable time as a public relations specialist in the Latvian Luge Sports Federation and Orienteering Federation. However, Sandra has been a sales representative at “True Story LTD” and a project manager at “BooxAI Technologies” for a couple of years now.
In addition to her full-time work, Sandra holds the title of the best Latvian orienteer.
Sandra achieved her first major international success – bronze in the sprint distance – at the European Junior Orienteering Championship in the Czech Republic in 2011. In 2019, she won the most prestigious multi-day competition in the Baltics “Kāpas” for the first time, then repeated this success in 2021 and 2022. During her sports career, Sandra has won the overall ranking of the Latvian Cup several times, in recent years she has won almost all stages of the Latvian Cup and the Latvian championships in which she competed. She also broke Latvian records.
Last year, Sandra also won the award of her place of study – Sports Academy – as the best athlete of the year in individual sports.
However, orienteering is not the only sport that Sandra is involved in, she has also achieved success in athletics. She is the 2019 Latvian champion in cross-country athletics, and also won a silver medal in the 5000 m distance at the 2021 Latvian Athletics Championship.
