Salzburg Judoka Shine at ÖM U16 Championships with Hacksteiner, Höllwart, and Scheiber Taking Titles

Höllwart Michaela, Hacksteiner Michael and Scheiber Felix conquer the ÖM title

– The first day of the ÖM weekend in Krems was successful for Salzburg’s judoka. 10x precious metal, 3x gold, 3x silver and 4x bronze were won at this year’s Austrian U16 championships, which were very strong with 229 participants from 56 clubs.

Hacksteiner Michael (Sanjindo) was able to successfully defend his title from last year in the 60kg class and thus won his second U16 ÖM gold. Club colleague Michaela Höllwart achieved Austrian championship honors for the first time with her victory in the +70kg category. For Felix Scheiber (PSV Salzburg), after the 66kg title last year, it was his second ÖM title this year, a class higher up to 73kg.

This year, seven Salzburg clubs made it onto the ÖM podium with their judoka and won medals: Sanjindo, PSV Salzburg, Flachgau, Judogym, Sakura, Saalfelden and Bürmoos. Tomorrow the Austrian U21 Championships will take place in Krems, where two titles went to Salzburg last year.
