Salomón steals the show in the Concachampions

The “Gladiator” Solomon did it again. The Venezuelan was decisive in Pachuca’s 2-1 victory over Herediano in the second leg of the quarterfinals of the Concacaf Champions Cup (Concachampions).

The Tuzos, who beat the first leg 5-0, register their name in the semifinals, where América, from the Mexican League, and Columbus Crew SC, from the MLS, are already there.

Bryan González put Pachuca ahead in the 47th minute, heading in a corner from Chofis López. Salomón, on the counterattack, made it 2-0 in the 59th minute and that would be the goal of difference.

Upon leaving, in the 79th minute, “Salo” received a huge ovation from the fans who gathered at the Hidalgo Stadium.

The Venezuelan has 15 goals in 18 games with the Tuzos and, with seven goals, consolidates himself as the top scorer in the Concachampions. His closest pursuer is Alejandro Zendejas (4).
