On the 16th, Saki Shinzoe (Self-Defense Forces), a member of the Paris Olympics representative in the women’s 70kg class who will be participating in the Asian Judo Championships (20th to 23rd, Hong Kong), responded to an online interview ahead of the tournament, saying, “(I came in 3rd place) ) I’ve been practicing the tasks that came up at the Grand Slam Tashkent.I think I’ve learned a lot, and I want to do my best to win the gold medal this time.”

At the GS Tashkent tournament in March, they lost to local Uzbek players in the quarterfinals. He took this tournament as an opportunity to sort out his techniques, revealing, “I’ve learned which techniques work and what doesn’t.I threw away the techniques that didn’t work and practiced for a month.” During a match, he sometimes finds himself using techniques that don’t work because of his body’s reaction, adding, “I want to stay calm and fight because before I know it, I’m using a technique that doesn’t work.”

This tournament is expected to be the last actual competition before the Olympics. The world queen also won the Asian title and will challenge for her gold medal in Paris.
