Sainte Chantal Dominates in Inter-High School Basketball Tournament’s Fourth Day

The inter-high school basketball tournament, organized by the Analamanga basketball league called “All Step”, entered its fourth day on Saturday. The boys from the Sainte Chantal private high school in Soanierana continued their flawless performance by outclassing, with a score of 53-50, the Andohalo high school students who played on their own field.

Led by Théophile Randrianoelisoa, coach of Sainte Chantal, the boys from the private high school of Soanierana showed themselves to be intractable in all aspects of the game. From the start of the match, they stifled the Andohalo players from the start, despite the support from supporters who came in large numbers to support their team. Very complementary on the field and used to playing together, the victory of the Soanierana basketball players, despite the great resistance of the Andohalo boys, left the Andohalo high school supporters speechless.

The latter fully supported their team, but, little by little, they fell silent out of helplessness. The Soanierana high school students are too strong for them, who recorded their second victory in as many matches and prance in the lead, placing themselves in front of the Ampefiloha high school students who lost their match on Saturday.

“We stayed on our style of play: secure every shot and defend well under the backboard by securing all the rebounds, whether offensive or defensive. Our game improves over the matches and our success is always based on the cohesion of my players. For the next match, the objective does not change: always seek victory,” confides Théophile Randrianoelisoa, coach of Sainte Chantal.

On the field of the Ampefiloha modern high school, the protégés of coach Mémé or Aimé Randria, coach of the LMA, lost for the second time in four meetings on their soil. They were beaten by the high school students from the Holy Family Institution, with a score of 44-47 (11-9, 17-12, 10-15, 6-11).

Getting off to a good start in the first and second quarters, the Ampefiloha high school students led by Rino Randimbiarivelo, member of the U18 boys national team at Afrobasket 2021 in Madagascar, are struggling to make the difference. By alternating skills and gaps, their lead of seven points at the break faded little by little: 38-36, end of the third quarter. After three minutes of play in the fourth quarter, the Sainte Famille high school students took the lead to close the match at 47-44.
