The Saint-Francois-Xavier Chevaliers won five of 10 finals at the LKSSAA North senior and junior badminton tournaments.

The Northern Vikings, with two wins, were the only other team with multiple victories Tuesday at St. FX secondary school.

The top six in each division advance to the LKSSAA senior championship Tuesday, April 16, at St. FX and the junior championship Thursday, April 18, in Chatham at St. Clair College’s HealthPlex and Ursuline College.

SENIOR: Hunter Boucher of St. FX won the boys’ singles final over Lambton Central’s Tyler Collins. Northern’s Tej Patel was third and Ethan McAuley of Great Lakes was fourth.

Tahlia Kelch of St. FX won the girls’ singles final over Northern’s Francesca Yeh. Katelyn Agar of Great Lakes was third and North Lambton’s Anna Harvryiliuk was fourth.

Northern’s Callum Scott and Ben Lee beat Lambton Central’s Ryan Shaw and Elijah Robinson in the boys’ doubles final. Charlie McLaughlin and Nic Anderson of Great Lakes were third. North Lambton’s Parker Lewis and Jack Van Gorp were fourth.

North Lambton’s Delaney Appeldoorn and Ava Joris defeated Lambton Central’s Ryann McAuley and Rowan Moffat in the girls’ doubles final. Bella Gagne and Avery Hands of Great Lakes were third. Northern’s Mykenna Spowart and Peyton Huard were fourth.

Kohle Weed and Ellie Ho of St. FX beat Lambton Central’s Jack Helps and Leanne Minten in the mixed doubles final. Isaac Abrahamson and Morgan Smith of Great Lakes were third. North Lambton’s Lucas Aarts and Sadie Barnes were fourth.

JUNIOR: Mathieu DesRochers of St. FX beat Northern’s Chinmay Damani in the boys’ singles final. Northern’s Shlok Shah was third and Lambton Central’s Yarko Zelenchuk was fourth.

Sienna Rawana defeated Kritika Vashisht in an all-Northern girls’ singles final. Zoey Ainsworth of Great Lakes was third and Janelle Boucher of St. FX was fourth.

Lambton Central’s Seth Highfield and Cash Vandenberghe won the boys’ doubles final over Northern’s Fergus Turnbull and Lachlan Huard. Max Foster and Joel Locchead of St. FX were third. Nolan Wu and Kody Yorke of Great Lakes were fourth.

Kayleigh Towner and Masha Alekseev of St. Patrick’s defeated Jayla Judson and Arielle Meek of Great Lakes in the girls’ doubles final. Katie Toneguzzo and Hailey Robbins of St. Patrick’s were third. North Lambton’s Brooke Reid and Kyla Tremaine were fourth.

Ben Breault and Eve Krohn of St. FX won the mixed doubles final over Connor Moore and Emily White of St. Patrick’s. Northern’s Grace Hockin and Gavin Hanna were third. Northern’s Aleena Haasan and Faisal Mulhim were fourth.
