Rossi’s 21st NHL goal of the season in Minnesota win

Marco Rossi scored a goal in the Minnesota Wild’s 4-0 away win over the Chicago Blackhawks in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Sunday. The Vorarlberg player made it 2-0 (33rd) and now has 21 goals this season in the North American ice hockey league.

Rossi drew level with Michael Raffl, who also scored 21 goals for the Philadelphia Flyers in the 2014/15 season. Of the Austrian NHL professionals, only Thomas Vanek (nine times) and Michael Grabner (twice) have scored more times in one season.

In Chicago, star striker Kirill Kaprisow scored his season goals 40 (22nd) and 41 (49th), Frederick Gaudreau (39th) made it 3-0. 21-year-old goalkeeper Jesper Wallstedt celebrated a “shut-out” in his second NHL game.

If they lost, Minnesota would definitely have been out of the playoff race. With nine points behind the promotion places and only five games left, the Wild’s play-off chances are only theoretical.
