Rising Stars: Young Roses Shine at Petites Plumes Bigoudènes Tournament

Eight bad players from the Roses went to Plogastel-St-Germain to participate in the Petites Plumes Bigoudènes tournament, which took place in the magnificent local hall. Constantly progressing, the young Roses did not fail in their reputation and even repeated their performance from last week.

Livio Hamon in SH cadet 2 signed a great victory in the final against Merlin Dombré du Relecq-Kerhuon (21/19 – 21/11). Livio had an excellent tournament, showing remarkable regularity and consistency.

Camille Le Berre-Moreau in SD cadete 2 won her first final, against Anna Neveux from Ploneour-Lanvern (21/04 – 21/03). An easy victory that reflects his impeccable performance throughout the day. She encountered no real opposition, apart from the demands and instructions of her coach, Paul Reuter, who asked her to play straight and create gaps. A challenge that she had a little difficulty in meeting.

Azenor Dagorn unfortunately lost his final in minimal 1, victim of the merciless adage “win in group, lose in final, and vice versa”. Despite a good final, he lost the first set 21/13. She reacted brilliantly in the second, winning 21/11 with very few mistakes and creating gaps. In the final set, she started strong, leading by as many as 11 points. However, a grain of sand crept into his playing pattern, his clearances becoming shorter. This was enough for her opponent, Eileen Corre from Plonéour-Lanvern, to seize the victory 21/13 in the 3rd set.

Despite this defeat, the results of the tournament are positive. We note a notable progression among the young Roses, with better controlled shots and a desire to enlarge the opposing playing field. For the next meeting, the young Cornouaillais will: participate in the Loustics de Briec senior tournament on May 4 and 5, in singles and doubles.
