Rising Star: Qwan’tez Stiggers Making Waves in the 2024 NFL Draft

Qwan’tez Stiggers is one of the most interesting prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Stiggers, 22, is expected to be selected in the draft despite never playing a snap of college football. The cornerback attended B.E.S.T. Academy in Georgia and started college at Lane University, but dropped out following his father’s death.

Despite never playing college football, the cornerback is drawing significant interest across the league. Stiggers is set to make a 30-visit with the Bills on Monday and has several other visits lined up.

How did Stiggers land on NFL radars?

It started in the Fan Controlled Football (FCF) league. Stiggers tried out for the indoor American football league after being encouraged by his mother to do so. He made the league, recorded five interceptions and finished as runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year. He played so well in FCF that Josh Jenkins, a former coordinator in the Canadian Football League, urged him to try out for the Canadian league.

Stiggers did so and would sign with the Toronto Argonauts. The cornerback made the team’s final roster and would go on to start 16 games. He recorded five interceptions in his first season with the Argonauts and would end up being named a CFL East All-Star. Stiggers also won the league’s Most Outstanding Rookie Award.

Since taking the CFL by storm, Stiggers attended the East-West Shrine Bowl. He was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine, but has shown enough in a short time to generate plenty of interest league wide. Stiggers is expected to be selected on day three of the draft. Considering the Bills’ need for cornerback depth, Stiggers could end up being a target for the team with one of their day three picks.
