She is only 16 years old, determined, strong and already internationally successful. We’re talking about Anna Bachler from the Multikraft Wels judo performance center.
The top talent made it into the youth national squad last year. Now she can look forward to special Colop funding.
The two managing directors of the globally active stamp making company Colop, Christoph Skopek and Franz Ratzenberger, had had their sights on the young woman from Wels for a long time. After all, Anna Bachler has already been on the top podium twice at the strong Colop Youth Masters (350 participants from ten nations).
Bachler recently won silver at the U18 tournament in Vittorio Veneto, northern Italy, and gold at the UJZ Trophy. Her great role model is consequently ex-European judo champion and club colleague Sabrina “Sabsi” Filzmoser.
“Colop was also Sabrina’s first sponsor from the age of 16. Training camps and competitions abroad were financed. It was a steep climb. As an 18-year-old, she already won gold at the Junior European Championships in Bucharest,” recalled Skopek, who also believes Anna Bachler has achieved the big feat and thus taken the step to the top.
Bachler visits the competitive sports BORG in Linz and finds optimal conditions in the Olympic Center on the Gugl and in the Budokan Wels. “Besides school, I can train two to three times a day. “Next year I want to gain a foothold in the Junior European Cup and qualify for the U18 European Championship,” said Anna Bachler, clearly setting out her goals.
“Young, ambitious athletes need the support most,” says women’s speaker Willi Reizelsdorfer from the LZ Multikraft Wels about the special funding from the Colop company, which has been actively supporting Wels’ young judo talent for 30 years.
