Rising Cuban Star Miguel Vargas Shining in Triple-A, But Struggles to Find Place with Dodgers

Despite his explosion in Triple A, a level that is too small for him with his start, Cuban Miguel Vargas seems to have no place in the Dodgers’ senior team, at least, for now.

The son of a Cuban baseball legend is active at the first level and there were many expectations for him to settle in the Big League. But, after some problems in 2023, this did not happen.

In 2024, Miguel Vargas began impetuously in Triple A, a category in which he has dominated as a broad hitter, as the numbers indicate.

Lázaro’s son has been a phenomenon in the beginning with Oklahoma City Baseball Club, with displays of power and good production.

This Wednesday, for the second consecutive date, he drove in four runs and hit a home run for his team.

After five challenges, he has three homers with 12 RBIs and an amazing offensive line of 368/.435/.947. To this, add that he has two doubles also as extra base hits.

But, given the team he belongs to, the Dodgers, it seems difficult for him to have a place in the first team.
