Reviving Baseball Program in Zambrana Kicks Off with Youth Tournament

Megan Tibbals, general manager, addressed the young athletes and expressed her satisfaction at the opening of the tournament with 270 children.

Barrick Pueblo Viejo, in collaboration with the Major League team, the Houston Astros, together with local authorities and Major League Baseball (MLB), began the third youth baseball tournament as an integral part of its “Reviving Baseball” program.

This program aims to promote sports development among children and young people in the municipal district of Zambrana, in the Sánchez Ramírez province.

The opening day began with an exciting parade, in which teams made up of 270 children from the communities participated. Arroyo Vuelta, Las Lagunas, La Cerca, La Piñita, Maguaca, Tocoa, Palo de Cuaba, Lajas, El Rayo, El Naranjo, Tres Bocas, Sabana del Rey, Jobo Claro, Jurungo, Guardianón, El Limpio, Tun Tun, Las Flores , San Isidro, La Cabirma, El Maricao and El Mango of the Zambrana municipal district in the Sánchez Ramírez province.

The welcoming words were given by Efraín Cambero of the Zambrana Sports Council, and Ramón Elpidio Santana, mayor of Zambrana.

Jefry Reyes, RBI coordinator in the country, spoke about the RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program. Representing Barrick Pueblo Viejo, Megan Tibbals, general manager, addressed the young athletes and expressed her satisfaction with the inauguration.
