René van der Gijp only sees one option in the Netherlands for Mohamed Ihattaren

The analysts at Today Inside fear that football will no longer be played at the top level. Johan Derksen thinks his future could lie in amateur football, but René van der Gijp still sees one club in the Eredivisie that could lend a helping hand.

Slavia Prague announced on Sunday that Ihattaren’s contract has been terminated. The club reported that Ihattaren wants to focus on his career in the presence of his family. Derksen is skeptical about that. “I read that Ihattaren wants to play football close to home. Then I think: that will be Spakenburg. There is no Dutch club that starts with that boy anymore. He has been sent away everywhere. If Almere City doesn’t try with him, then it’s over.”

According to Derksen, it is not a good idea for Ihattaren to focus on his career in the presence of his family. “His own environment is actually deadly for him. He sits with his brothers, who boss him around and share in the money. And all those shady friends in Utrecht. Then you can forget about your career.”

Van der Gijp thinks that FC Utrecht, the club from Ihattaren’s hometown, could do well to call the attacker. “If I were Utrecht, I would leave it to him. I wouldn’t call him to persuade him, but say: ‘Dear boy, if you want to revive your career, you are always welcome. Don’t you feel like it, just good friends.” Derksen has his doubts. “I think he also causes a lot of unrest. People are annoyed by him.”
