Rafa Nadal signs up for the Laver Cup. The Balearic tennis player will be on the European team in the seventh edition of this competition that will be held at the Uber Arena in Berlin from September 20 to 22.
“I am very happy to play the Laver Cup in Berlin for the European team. TI have some really special memories from my Laver Cup experiences, including all the emotions of London two years ago playing alongside Roger for the last time,” Nadal said.
The Balearic Islands will team up with Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev and Alexander Zverev with the intention of recovering the Laver Cup for Europe after the last two victories of the Rest of the World team. “At this stage of my career I’m really looking forward to going out and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way. Teaming up is always an incredible experience and I’ve always enjoyed it, the competition is different and exciting. I’m really looking forward to going to Berlin and help the European team recover the Laver Cup,” says Nadal in statements provided by the tournament.
It will be Nadal’s fourth time in this competition, having already played in Prague in 2017, Geneva in 2019 and London 2022. in which Roger Federer’s farewell was. “Rafa is an absolute legend in our sport, a true champion in every sense of the word. It is my last year as captain. Having him in the Europe team this year was one of my goals and I am delighted that he has accepted my invitation and will be with us in Berlin.”points out Bjorn Bjorn, captain of Europe.
Nadal, in the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh
After the presence at the Laver Cup,Rafa Nadal would also be in the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) in mid-October.
