PSG Féminin: despite the storm, Katoto and Chawinga continue against Dijon (3-0)

Despite the violent storm and an interruption of more than half an hour before starting the second period, PSG got through the rain this Sunday afternoon. Jocelyn Prêcheur’s players have a fifth victory against Dijon (3-0) and are now undefeated in 23 matches, in all competitions. They consolidate their second place in D1 Arkema after 19 days and before the international break begins. Harmless, the Dijonnaises remain 8th (out of 12) with ten points ahead of the maintenance.

A meeting mastered by the Parisiennes, three days after their brilliant qualification in the semi-final of the Champions League. Dominant despite four changes in the starting lineup, they quickly opened the scoring thanks to Marie-Antoinette Katoto, her 10th goal this season in D1. With a hook at the entrance to the area and an adjusted shot from the right, the French international left the Dijon goalkeeper no chance. The work done, Katoto left his place at the break to the young Manssita Traoré.

Chawinga’s double

But the woman of this match is once again the inevitable Tabitha Chawinga. The Malawi striker scored her 25th and 26th goals in 26 starts this season. Enough to consolidate her status as top scorer in D1 with 17 goals.

The first was scored at close range following a corner taken in two stages (45th). The second, almost a copy and paste of that of Thursday against Häcken: breakthrough from Grace Geyoro, captain, in the middle, who transmits the ball into the area before Chawinga continues with his left foot (59th).

Without Sakina Karchaoui or Élisa de Almeida, left to rest, Jocelyn Prêcheur gave playing time to young Tara Elimbi-Gilbert and Anaïs Ebayilin. A meeting ended with an injury to the right arm of Manssita Traoré before the start of the international break where the organizations will still be called upon, in particular for the Americans Korbin Albert and Eva Gaetino, expected Monday afternoon in Atlanta (United States).

Next match for the Parisiennes: April 13 against Guingamp in D1 before a double confrontation against OL in the semi-final of the Champions League, interspersed with another shock against Paris FC in the championship.
