Premier League: Setback for Klopp and Liverpool FC after game against Everton

Jürgen Klopp suffered a bitter setback with Liverpool FC in the fight for the English football championship. The German coach’s team lost 0-2 (0-1) in the derby at Everton FC on Wednesday evening. Jarrad Branthwaite (27th) and Dominic Calvert-Lewin (58th) scored for the hosts at Goodison Park.

In the Premier League, Liverpool are still three points behind Arsenal in second place. The front-runner clearly won the derby against Chelsea FC 5-0 (1-0) on Tuesday and extended the lead over rivals Liverpool and Manchester City to three and four points respectively. Champion City have played two fewer games and play at Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday.

The club is apparently one step further in its search for a successor to Jürgen Klopp. According to information from the British broadcaster Sky Sports, Liverpool FC has started negotiations with the Dutch second-placed team Feyernoord Rotterdam to bring their coach Arne Slot to Anfield. The broadcaster cited sources close to Feyernoord. Accordingly, the 45-year-old Slot is moving to Liverpool.
