Premier League club strikes in Eindhoven

will exchange PSV for the English side Burnley this summer, Fabrizio Romano announced on Friday afternoon. The right back can hardly count on playing minutes for the Eindhoven team this season and leaves the Philips Stadium on a free transfer for Turf Moor.

Sambo had an excellent season in the Eredivisie with Sparta last season, but will have to make do with a place on the reserve bench at PSV this season. Jordan Teze is preferred by Peter Bosz, so a departure of Sambo – whose contract expires in the summer – was already expected. It is now clear through Fabrizio Romano that Burnley will be the follow-up destination for Sambo, who was also said to have been in the interest of FC Twente last summer.

According to the usually well-established Romano, Sambo will soon sign a four-year contract with Burnley, the club where Vincent Kompany works as head coach. There is a good chance that Sambo will not play in the Premier League, but in the Championship. Burnley is currently nineteenth in the highest level in England and that would mean direct relegation.
