On Saturday, April 13th, the international judo Gleisdorf city tournament took place with over 350 participants. The Pinkafeld judo club was represented with a total of 10 starters in the U10, U12 and U16 age groups.
In the morning the young U10/U12 athletes fought for the medals. Pfeiffer-Semmler Vinzenz (U10/-30kg) started the first fight with a small mistake, lost it, but won the next two fights and secured 3rd place.
Unfortunately it wasn’t enough for a medal for Veit Johanna (U12/-32kg), Heiden Elias (U10/-27kg), Kirnbauer Leo (U12/-38kg) and Bojan Iosif (U12/-34kg), but they still showed impressive fights and were able to gain valuable experience.
In the afternoon things went much better for the judokas from Pinkafeld, and all five starters secured a place. Particularly successful were Del Medico Nick (U16/-81kg) and Jedamski Jadea (U16/-52kg), who achieved first place. Further placings were achieved by Golic Elvir (3rd place, U16/-60kg), Braun Shizuka (3rd place, U16/48kg) and LehnerJohanna (2nd place, U16/-52kg).
