Payton Pritchard Shines Bright in Boston: A Career Night to Remember

Three days ago, Payton Pritchard was propelled into the role of starter in a largely overhauled Boston team. In just 30 minutes, he took the opportunity to score 31 points and a career record. Ahead of the gloomy display against the Wizards this Sunday, everyone was just waiting for a new coup. It was obviously sparkling.

When Payton Pritchard sits down after 12 minutes of play, we are almost disappointed to only see him at 6 points on 2/7 shooting. But for the leader of the C’s, the month of April rhymes with melophile. The term melophile refers to someone who loves music, and in his case, it is more precisely the sweet sound of the ball entering the net without touching the hoop. He loves it.

7 minutes 43 left in the second quarter, the king of the evening starts the show. Chiseled 3-pointers, handles in all directions and a crazy view by scoring 14 consecutive points for the Celtics. He even gives himself a final bomb three seconds before the break, so fire is not a hot enough element to describe it.

Absurd statistical moment: only 7 Boston Celtics players have scored 20 points and 6 assists in the first half in the entire history of the franchise. Payton did it this Sunday, but also… Friday. The only green to have done it several times, it’s crazy.

Obviously, Payton Pritchard does not weaken in the second act. Without forcing, it rises to 12 caviars over the evening with kdos for, among others, Neemias Queta or Jaden Springer. Despite his 23 meter height, PP is even keen to collect the sausages sent by the Wizards. 9 rebounds, Real jack of all trades.

In the last quarter, he is chasing a few to validate the triple-double, and the entire TD Garden expresses its frustration when Washington suddenly remembers how to return shots. Payton consoles himself by continuing his tricks and explodes his career record established three days ago. 38 points at 15/21 shooting, 4/6 from the parking lot, it’s cleaner than our grandmothers’ porcelain.

Last game of the 2023 regular season: 30 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. Last regular game 2024: 38 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. If each game was called “last regular game”, we would have another MVP candidate in Boston.

The TTFL spot was almost given, Massachusetts is celebrating, and Payton Pritchard is going to sleep well tonight. Faced with this information, we too will sleep well. See you in the Playoffs for the man who still scored 92 points in pro-AM. What a funny face, and what a funny career.
