Paris-Roubaix: Florian Sénéchal apologizes after criticizing his team’s bikes

Head in the handlebars? This Sunday during Paris-Roubaix, Florian Sénéchal had to change bikes four times and pointed this out after the race. “I think we have a technical problem with our bikes,” he explained to Cyclism’Actu. He criticized his handlebars in particular for not holding up. His Arkéa-B&B Hotels team did not in fact follow all the assembly instructions.

She apologized for this this Thursday, in a press release: “After the exchanges between Bianchi (its bicycle supplier) and the team staff, it appeared that certain instructions provided by Bianchi concerning the assembly of the handlebars were ignored , causing disparities in the use of bicycles in races. »

Only 60th in the race

Florian Sénéchal’s words probably did not bring good press to the Italian brand. The French rider, 60th in the ranking at the end of Paris-Roubaix, can therefore blame his team for not having respected all the instructions when adjusting the bikes.

“The Arkéa-B&B Hotels team, its general manager Emmanuel Hubert, as well as all the riders from the three structures would like to reaffirm their total confidence in the Bianchi brand bikes, which have already made it possible to win this season seven races: five on the road for men, one for women, the French Cyclo-cross Championship and recently finishing 2nd in the Tour of Flanders with Luca Mozzato. »
