Paris 2024 Olympics: 100 days before the Games, the French unveil a clip to launch the Olympic campaign

The home stretch is underway. 100 days before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the French team chose this Wednesday, April 17 to publish a promotional clip. Presented at the Grand Palais Éphémère at the end of the day as part of this event day, it is now broadcast on social networks. In it, several legends of France are honored.

In the cast, the triple Olympic champion Marie-José Pérec (in the 400 m in Barcelona 1992, then in the 200 and 400 m in Atlanta 1996), or the judoka David Douillet (gold medalist in Atlanta and Sydney, four years later late). Paralympic athletes were also invited, such as paratennis player Michaël Jeremiasz (Olympic doubles champion in Beijing in 2008).

To accompany these legends, some of the future French representatives at the Paris 2024 Games participated in the clip. Among them, Clarisse Agbégnénou (judo), Aurélien Giraud (skateboard), Lucas Mazur (para-badminton) and even Marine Boyer (artistic gymnastics). In total, 37 athletes who will take part in the Olympics this summer are present in the video.

To compose the music for the clip, Thomas Roussel was mobilized. The piece was named “Rendezvous with History”. A title similar to that of the clip, which exists in two versions: one of 2 minutes and the other of 30 seconds. It features athletes, training or competing. It will be broadcast on television, on social networks, but also on the Olympic sites. Everything is accompanied by several visuals on which the slogan and the athletes are represented.

In the heart of the Grand Palais Éphémère, the video was greeted and applauded at length by the French athletes present in the Assembly, now embarked on the home stretch towards Paris 2024. Throughout the day, they conducted interviews and interviews. of words in the media, and also took the opportunity to take photos and other “official” visuals which can be used this summer during competitions.

At the end of this D-100 ceremony, an army of French supporters gradually invaded the space which will be renamed “Arena Champ de Mars” this summer, and which will notably host the judo events in the first week of the Games. A few clapping sounds, a few chants from supporters and a Marseillaise then resonated.
