Paris 2024 Olympic Games: accused of sexual harassment, “T’es pas net Baptiste” will not carry the Olympic flame

Since Wednesday morning, “You’re not clean Baptiste”, has been agitating social networks, accused of having sent several sexual messages to minors in the past. Faced with the outcry caused by the numerous testimonies, the Cojo (Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games) decided to put an end to the great adventure that was promised to it: to be one of the bearers of the Olympic flame. “Given the recent accusations made against Baptiste, he took the decision in conjunction with the Organizing Committee not to carry the flame. Responsible decision given the situation,” Le Cojo told Le Parisien.

The 29-year-old made himself known via a viral video filmed in 2017 in his room, in which he tried to make a fire and was chosen by the Organizing Committee to be the torch bearer. But on Wednesday April 17, several women claimed on social networks to have received messages of a sexual nature from him in the past, even though they were minors at the time of the events.

Following a first video accusing the young man, others were posted. An alleged victim shared a screenshot of a conversation in which Baptiste allegedly told a 15-year-old girl (he was an adult at the time): “You’ll see when you have it in your mouth if she is small,” when talking about her gender. “I’m going to spank you”, “You deserve to be punished”, “You are a naughty little girl”, he would have written to another according to a testimony on Tik Tok.

In addition to these messages, a young woman denounced anonymously on Instagram non-consensual caresses on the hips, which could be considered criminally as sexual assault if proven.

“I am determined to learn from my mistakes”

Baptized Moirot by his real name, remains presumed innocent. For his part, without directly acknowledging the accusations made against him, he published an apology on his Instagram story on Wednesday. “I address these words to you with deep sincerity. I made mistakes and I am deeply sorry for them. Since becoming a father and starting my own family, I have really become aware of the importance of my actions and the example that I want to set. I am determined to learn from my past mistakes and continue working towards a better world. Thank you for your support and understanding.”

Contacted, he did not respond to our requests, but published a message on Instagram this Thursday, indicating that he “had made the decision to withdraw from the torch relay”.

A first blow for Paris 2024, which had made a great communication move by announcing on April 10 its presence in the Olympic relay, information widely relayed on social networks. A choice that will have lasted a long time.
