Geneviève Pairoux-Lagardère, 11 Paralympic medals in swimming between 1984 and 2008, and Yves Durand Saint-Omer (101 years old), former coach of Colette Besson, Olympic 400m champion in 1968 in Mexico, chaired the “Make your bets” event on Wednesday April 10, 2024 afternoon in Langon (Gironde).

As a prelude to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, 17 Olympic disciplines were represented on the Durros sports field. The Langon sports clubs offered initiations to young people.

The day began with an opening ceremony, like at the Olympic Games, with a parade of young athletes where the 5 communities of communes of South-Gironde symbolized the five Olympic rings, with, each, eight young able-bodied and disabled people. .

It’s a great honor to be here. When I heard the Olympic anthem, I felt like I was there again!
