Chambly: a Paralympic badminton champion visiting the Camus school

This Friday April 5, 2024, the parabadminton champion Lucas MAZUR was in Chambly to visit the two Olympic classes at the Albert-Camus school. The player of Badminton Club Chambly Oise took part in the question/answer game, was able to admire the students’ work on the Olympic and Paralympic Games and was even offered gifts! After offering an autograph to the whole group, the visit ended with a small photo session.

Lucas Mazur, victim of a stroke at the age of 3, suffers from a deformity in his right ankle and sees his mobility reduced. After playing football and rugby, he now flourishes in badminton in the SL4 category. This class corresponds to players only affected by a lower limb disability. Shortly after his debut, he won his first European title in 2014. In December 2016, he was elected player disabled sports international of the year 2016 during a ceremony organized in Dubai on the sidelines of the final of the Superseries circuit. In 2017, he won a world title during the world championships in Ulsan in South Korea, then he did it again in 2017 and 2019. During the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, he was a gold medalist in 2021, a title he hope to win again, in Paris, this summer!
