Paju City Completes Construction of Indoor Badminton Court in Bangchuk-ri, Gwangtan-myeon

Paju City completed the construction of an indoor badminton court in Bangchuk-ri, Gwangtan-myeon on the 16th and held a completion ceremony. About 100 people, including Paju Mayor Kim Kyung-il, local lawmakers, city and provincial lawmakers, and residents, attended the completion ceremony.

Gwangtan Indoor Badminton Court is a badminton-only stadium built on two floors above ground with a total floor area of ​​745㎡ with a total project cost of 3.5 billion won, and is equipped with four courts.

Paju City began the project in November 2020 through a process of continuous communication and opinion collection with local residents and related organizations. Construction began in June of last year and was completed in March of this year.

Gwangtan-myeon residents have been experiencing inconvenience due to insufficient sports facilities, but the construction of this Gwangtan indoor badminton court is expected to greatly contribute to improving the health of local residents, revitalizing daily sports, and improving citizen sports welfare.

Paju Mayor Kim Gyeong-il said, “Paju City will fulfill its role as the venue for this year’s Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival for the Disabled and the Gyeonggi-do Sports Festival, and strive to develop into a prestigious sports city.”
