The ceremony in the historic birthplace of the Games, Ancient Olympia in Greece. The Olympic flame, which embodies the principles of peace and hope, will pass through Greece before arriving in France. After the stage in Marseille on 8 May, it will cross the entire country and some French overseas territories, before arriving at the Opening Ceremony in Paris on 26 July. In front of thousands of people, President Bach underlined Paris 2024’s commitment to upholding Olympic values ​​and promoting global unity: “The Olympic Games are the only event that brings the whole world together in peaceful competition.
