There was an unusual crowd this Monday morning in the streets of the small town of Olympia, colorful with flags of Greece, France and other nations. A great day of excitement under a truly summer sun with a continuous flow of spectators rushing towards the site where the Olympic Games took place in ancient times. It was a day of dress rehearsal for the ceremony which will take place this Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. (11:30 a.m. local time) with the lighting of the flame in ancient Olympia. A codified ceremony, a nod to Antiquity but which is in fact a modern invention. With not necessarily good intentions at the start.
