Kahn on Tuchel’s departure from Bayern: “It says a lot…”

Kahn’s explicit praise for Tuchel takes on a very special note due to the events of the past year.

Together with Hasan Salihamidzic, the then Bayern CEO brought Tuchel to Munich as Julian Nagelsmann’s successor around a year ago. However, Kahn and Salihamidzic had to leave at the end of the season, and Tuchel’s departure from Bayern was decided in February 2024.

Kahn is surprised that Tuchel’s end in Munich came so quickly. As he told Sport Bild, he “always experienced Tuchel positively as an open conversation partner who developed further during his successful time in Paris and Chelsea.”

Kahn continued: “It says a lot when one of the most sought-after coaches in Europe, who led a team full of difficult stars to the Champions League final in Paris and won the Champions League with Chelsea, is in Munich with so many difficulties to fight.”

Hainer certifies Tuchel’s “tactical masterpiece”

After the win against Arsenal, club president Herbert Hainer certified that Tuchel, who was leaving in the summer, had achieved another “tactical masterpiece” – the coach had made a wise decision by lining up Noussair Mazraoui and Raphael Guerreiro on Arsenal’s strong right-wing attack side.

Bayern beat Arsenal 1-0 in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals and will now face Real Madrid in the semi-finals, knocking Manchester City out of the competition.
