The story of the “trial of the century” against OJSimpson
Nicole Brown and OJ Simpson married on February 2, 1985, five years after he retired from professional football. They had two children, Sydney Brooke Simpson and Justin Ryan Simpson. The marriage lasted seven years, during which time Simpson was investigated several times for domestic violence. Brown filed for divorce on February 25, 1992, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
On June 12, 1994, Brown and a young man named Ronald Goldman were found dead outside the duplex where she lived. The woman had been stabbed numerous times in her head and neck.
Investigators went to Simpson’s property in Rockingham to inform him that his ex-wife had been murdered. There, they found a white Ford Bronco truck with blood inside and outside, but they could not locate the former player, who had fled.
The authorities considered this action as an admission of guilt and alerted all citizens. They released information about their vehicles, until a person driving on a highway saw a truck like Simpson’s.
When they managed to arrest him, the Los Angeles Superior Court ordered that the trial be held in the center of the city and not in Santa Monica, where the crime had occurred. The process lasted around 9 months. Simpson was declared “not guilty” and released when no conclusive evidence against him appeared.
