Novak Djokovic (1st in the world ranking) defeated Alex De Miñaur (11th) 7-5, 6-4 and reached the semifinals of the Monte-Carlo Masters 1000 for the first time since 2015, being the eighth time in his career that he has reached this stage in the Monaco tournament.

However, Nole has not been displaying his best tennis and made it known at a press conference: “I really didn’t feel like celebrating the win too much.. Particularly in the second set there were many unforced errors and lost service games. “I don’t think we’ve ever played such beautiful tennis.”

Sometimes you just have to find a way to win. This was the case, in the end you may not feel your best or you may not be playing your best. “I think I had some really good moments, some brilliant moments, and I had moments where I struggled to hit the ball cleanly,” Nole continued.

On the other hand, the world number one said that he still has the same feelings as always before competing: “I enjoy the emotion of the butterflies before the match. Regardless of the fact that I have played so many matches in my life, I still feel those feelings of nervousness but also the excitement of going out on the field.“.
