« The truth is that he has been my friend for a long time. I’ve known him since I started. Of course, he was also my Davis Cup captain. We won the ATP Cup together in 2020, and we have always had a great relationship. I like the way he thinks about tennis, how he observes my game and that of others. He always helped me, he was like a mentor, a big brother. And we always kept a real connection. He was in Belgrade when I started my preparation on clay. So I asked him if there was a chance he would be there, he said yes. It went well so I asked him if he could come to Monaco. Now here we are. We’ll see where this takes us.
