NBA Recap: Anthony Edwards Scores 51 Points to Lead Timberwolves to Victory

Last night there were several games in the National Basketball Association (NBA). In one of them, the Minnesota Timberwolves with 130:121 beat the Washington Wizards.

The Timberwolves trailed -21 in the first quarter, took the lead for the first time at the end of the third quarter, and eventually celebrated a pretty sure victory. The main hero of the game was the “Timberwolves” star Anthony Edwards, who scored 51 points (2p. 11/16; 3p. 6/13; 1p. 11/11) and played the most productive game of his career. The 22-year-old guard also had six rebounds and seven assists.

Nickail Alexander-Walker helped Edwards with 23 points, while Rudy Gobert stood out with 19 points, 16 rebounds and four blocked shots. The French center had his 52nd double-double this season. Cory Kispert scored 25 points for the Wizards, and Jordan Poole scored 24 points.

In another game, the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Sacramento Kings 112-105. As usual, Shay Gilges-Alexander had 40 points and seven rebounds in the “Thunder” team, while Lugenz Dorts had 18 points. For the “Kings” team, De’Aaron Fox scored 33 points, while sophomore Keon Ellis had a career-high 26 points.

It should also be mentioned that “Kings” center Domants Sabonis stood out with eight points, 13 rebounds and five assists, as a result of which the Lithuanian’s 61-game double-double streak was broken. It was the seventh-longest such streak in NBA history, as well as the longest streak since 1976/77. seasons when the NBA and ABA were combined.

Finally, an important success was won by the Golden State “Warriors”, who won 134:120 against their direct rivals, the Los Angeles “Lakers”. Klay Thompson hit five long-range shots and scored 27 points, while Stephen Curry made six three-pointers for 23 points. The “Warriors” team made a total of 26 three-pointers. LeBron James collected 33 points and 11 assists on the other end of the court, while Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura had 22 and 20 points, respectively. Hachimura also had 11 turnovers.

“Warriors” with a balance of 44-35 almost caught the “Lakers” (45-35), who are in ninth place in the Western Conference. In the fight for the “play-in”, the eighth position owner “Kings” has a balance of 45-34, while the one place higher “Suns” has a balance of 46-33.
