Philadelphia still believes in it, the Warriors continue and the Clippers perform the great operation of the evening Thursday against Denver: the battle towards the play-offs continues in the NBA.

. The 76ers in the race

With its success against the Heat (109-105), just ahead in the standings in the East, Philadelphia returned Thursday to a victory for Indiana, sixth with 43 successes and therefore potentially directly qualified for the play-offs. In addition to 37 points scored, Tyrese Maxey added 11 assists and 9 rebounds, narrowly missing the triple-double. The American, who had missed the last two matches due to a hip injury, made a good return alongside Joel Embiid – also recently returned from injury – and his 29 points (4 rebounds, 3 assists). “I’m tired,” the 23-year-old leader conceded after the match, “normally when you come back, you play 32 minutes but I told (to Nick Nurse, the coach) that I was ready,” explained the one who ultimately played a little over 41 minutes.

. The Warriors are breathing

In the West, the Warriors scored a sixth victory in a row by winning 133-110 in Houston, thus consolidating their tenth place with six matches remaining in the regular season, synonymous with a play-off for the play-offs. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson each scored 29 points to build Golden State’s success, the 13th in a row against the Rockets.

. The Clippers take on Denver

Paul George’s 28 points and James Harden’s 20 allowed the Clippers to win 102-100 over defending champion Denver, despite the triple-double (36 pts, 17 reb, 10 assists) of the inevitable Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets took the lead in the first quarter (31-20) before Los Angeles came back and kept the lead for good. Each team was deprived of a star since Jamal Murray was missing from Denver while Kawhi Leonard was also absent from the Clippers. The latter nevertheless performed well and remained 4th in the West.

. Easy Dallas vs. Atlanta

Behind Los Angeles, Dallas was able to count on Luka Doncic (25 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists) and Kyrie Irving (26 pts) to win 109-95 in front of Atlanta. The Mavericks thus have one more victory (46) than Phoenix, sixth, in the fight for direct qualification. Fifth, but in the East, the Knicks also won against Sacramento (120-109), thanks to 35 points from Jalen Brunson and 31 from Josh Hart. New York ends a three-game losing streak but will have to do without Julius Randle for the rest of the season. The strong winger, who injured his right shoulder in January, must undergo surgery.
