Narrow Defeat in Madrid: Jurij Rodionov’s Journey to the Challenger Tournament Semi-Finals

Jurij Rodionov narrowly missed the final of the Challenger tournament in Madrid.

The Lower Austrian had to admit defeat to the Swiss Leandro Riedi 6:4, 3:6, 6:7 (3) on Saturday afternoon after almost two and a half hours of play. In the tiebreak it was even for a long time, but when the score was 3:3 the Swiss scored four points in a row.

In the ATP ranking, Rodionov will improve by around six places to position 118 due to reaching the semi-finals. Next week the ÖTV-Daviscupper will play at the ATP 250 tournament in Munich (draw).
