The pilot Andrea Dovizioso had a serious accident on Tuesday morning while practicing motocross on the Terranuova Bracciolini track, in the province of Arezzo (Italy).

The 38-year-old Italian suffered a severe blow to the head and had to be transported by helicopter to Careggi Hospital of Florence.

Dovizioso, three-time MotoGP runner-up, a category he abandoned in 2022, there was a head trauma and also a fracture in the right clavicle.

The spectacular nature of the accident initially raised fears of a more serious diagnosis. Although tests are still being carried out, the pilot wanted to reassure his followers with a statement on his Instagram account hours after the fall.

“This time I hit myself well. My collection of fractures is growing, but the important thing is that the TAC is negative. Tomorrow they will do more tests and I will keep you informed,” wrote the Italian pilot.

“Thanks to Yuri Naldini (his coach), who is always by my side, to everyone who rescued me and to the medical staff at the hospital. Thanks also to everyone who has written to me. “Who can guess what I’ve broken?!” concludes Dovizioso.
