Minnesota humiliates Phoenix in the NBA, Gobert still strong

The Timberwolves in demonstration. Minnesota won on the night of Friday to Saturday on the floor of the Phoenix Suns (109-126), who never led the game, in game 3 of the series in the first round of the play-offs. Rudy Gobert was again decisive (19 points on 6/8 shooting, 14 rebounds, 1 assist).

The Wolves, who led by 24 points at the start of the 4th quarter before seeing their lead slightly reduced, confirm their domination in this series. They now lead 3-0 and are already a foot and a half into the Conference semifinals, knowing that no team has recovered from a 3-0 playoff deficit in NBA history .

More successful than in Game 2 (105-93) where they were limited to 52 points, the three players making up the “Big Three” of Phoenix – Kevin Durant (25 points), Devin Booker (23) and Bradley Beal ( 28) – have not yet been able to fully express their offensive talent. Nor can we avoid this new setback.

Anthony Edwards shines

Opposite, Anthony Edwards led the Wolves attack with 36 points (as well as 9 rebounds and 5 assists), assisted by 5 other players with more than 13 points, including Naz Reid, recently named “6th man of the year” . “We’ve never been at this level, so we don’t have to worry about the past, or the future, we just want to continue to win,” simply reacted Edwards, whose franchise has only won a first round play-offs only once in thirty-four years of existence (in 2004).

Wolves needed a big Edwards to hold this result in the second half. Because if they had taken the lead at the break (53-59), everything still seemed open for the rest and Minnesota had to put up a 20-6 lead in the third quarter (from 58-63 to 64-83 ) to definitely take the break.

Minnesota now leads 3-0 in this first round although announced undecided. The Wolves will have the opportunity to qualify for the 2nd round on Sunday with a new match in Arizona, the last chance for Phoenix not to be completely humiliated.
