Michoacan Badminton Team Aims to Make History at National Conade 2024

MORELIA, Mich., April 17, 2024.- With the purpose of continuing to make history in badminton, the 23 selected Michoacans are preparing to arrive in the best way to National Conade 2024, a process that will be held from June 20 to 29 in Campeche.

In a press release from Cecufid, in the previous edition of Conade Nationals, Michoacán made history by winning a bronze in U-17 doubles thanks to Gastón Loeza and Fabio Mora, becoming the first medal that the state has achieved in this discipline. A year later, the team made up of U-13, 15, 17 and 19 players seeks to continue on the same path and increase the positive results in the medal table.

The 23 selected earned their places in the national qualifiers that were held in Nuevo León and Morelos, where a gold was obtained thanks to Valentina Marín, in Sub-13; two silvers in Under-13 and Under-17 teams; as well as three bronzes in men’s doubles and mixed doubles in U-15 and U-13, respectively, as well as in U-13 singles thanks to Paola Pacheco.

“The Michoacán national team participates with several objectives in mind, in the selective one they won a category, they reached three finals and we had three bronzes, so we consider that if we work correctly we can make history at National Conade 2024,” he shared Roberto Cruz, coach of the Michoacán national team of the specialty.

This year, Gastón Loeza and Fabio Mora, the couple that awarded bronze in U-17, separate due to age; Loeza moves up a category and Mora remains in the same category, so they will not be able to participate together this year, although both are expected to give good results in their corresponding divisions.
