Judo from Mexico takes gold, silver and bronze in Varadero Junior Panamerican Cup 2024

Very good results were achieved by members of the Mexican Judo Team in the Varadero Junior Panamerican Cup 2024, held this weekend, where they managed to win a gold medal, two silver and a bronze, with which the tricolor team was placed in the third place in the general medal table.

These achievements were marked in the results graphs of the Pan American Judo Confederation (CPJ), where it is reported that 108 competitors from seven nations attended this tournament held in Cuba.

In these records, it is noted that the gold medal for Mexico was won by José Icelo, in the -66 kilogram category.

Regarding the silver metals, these were obtained by Aylín Ávila, -52 kg; as well as Gerardo Castelán, +100 kg; As for the bronze medal, this was obtained by Renata Sandoval, -70, kg.

With these medals, the Mexican team placed third in the medal table, while Cuba placed first, and the United States placed second.
