The Eastern Canada championship was held on April 21 and 22 in Edmundston, New Brunswick. As for his selection on the Quebec team, Métis Couture will join his good childhood friend Charline Bourque, also a native of Saint-Alfred.
Several other athletes from the Judo Beauce club distinguished themselves last weekend. The group collected 25 medals in two days of competition. Adam Bouliane, Bryan Caissy, Adam Maurice, Léo Quirion, Hugo Lachapelle, Marius Duval, Éva Quirion, Travis Lachance, Zach Busque and Damien Gauthier won a gold medal on April 22 at the Beauport inter-regional, reserved for categories U10 to U14. Étienne and Arnaud Poulin finished in second place and Loïk Trudel finished third at the same competition.
