It is the citizens who decide the majorities, for I will not participate in the debate” on the possible appointment of Mario Draghi to the EU summit. “What interests me is that both Draghi and Enrico Letta, who are considered two pro-Europeans, tell us that Europe must be changed.”
The President of the Council met with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen this morning at the Europa Building, before the resumption of the work of the European Council. At the center of the conversation was an update on the results of the visit to Tunisia, also in relation to the implementation process of the Memorandum and the Mattei Plan, the concrete initiatives that can be implemented in light of the conclusions on the situation of Syrian refugees in Lebanon and a discussion on the themes of European competitiveness in view of this morning’s discussion among the leaders.
