For Daniil Medvedev, the Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo was the last stop on Thursday. The fourth in the world rankings had to admit defeat to his Russian compatriot Karen Khachanov, who was number 15, 3:6 5:7. While Medvedev was at least in the quarter-finals of the last two editions of the tournament, Khachanov reached the round of the last eight for the first time in the principality.
