Max Verstappen Dominates Japanese Grand Prix with Ease, Wins with Four Wheels

Max Verstappen won the Japanese Grand Prix yesterday with playful ease. The Dutchman was not completely satisfied at the start of the race weekend, but he still managed to win. According to Helmut Marko, Verstappen always wins if you only give him four wheels.

Verstappen was very dominant in Japan all weekend. On the Suzuka circuit he made no mistakes and easily drove away from his competitors. However, Verstappen was also critical, because he did not always feel good in his RB20. After the third free practice, a number of things were adjusted to his set-up, and according to Verstappen this has made the car considerably better.

Verstappen did not want to go into detail about what exactly Red Bull had adjusted. Team advisor Helmut Marko wanted to say something more to Motorsport.com: “First of all, people have to understand that we drove with a major update package this weekend. To understand that package, we lost one session, because FP2 fell into the water. Furthermore, the conditions are very different today. The track temperature was fourteen degrees higher than in the previous days. Thirdly, we have made the right changes in terms of setup. The race is always different for Max anyway. In the race he only needs a car with four wheels to win!”
